Had FB memories come up last night from 2013 (when I was still at my old place). I had shoveled 8-10" of snow the night before and woke up to 22 (measured) inches of snow. the Ex and I cleared enough to get to work, then got home and started the real clean up. I remember the dogs would get so impatient waiting for me to shovel the double-wide path to the dog pen (85' away) before bringing them into the house.

I got a kick out of this 1930's video of the heroic men and efficient machines of the Michigan State Highway Department, complete with poems, an orchestra, and comparing the DOT to a general, moving his snowplows like heavy artillery in a battle. So, pretty cheesy, but made me chuckle to see it.

"All night long, men heroically drive these rolling plows. These roads much be kept clear! They shall be kept open!"

1st 6 minutes is an ad for Michigan in winter, last 5 minutes is footage of 1930's snow clearing.

The guy who has the job shoveling sand in the back of a moving dump truck is more than a little bit tougher than I am.

I love watching the old movies. I've watched this one at least a dozen times. Still makes me want to go out and plow snow.

This isn't storm/blizzard but it is cold. Irony of it is I told my wife as I left this morning that it didn't feel too bad because the wind was down compared to a couple days ago. Winterin DakotahTerritory. Screenshot_20210212-121215_Facebook~2.jpg

At first I thought I was looking at a set of snow covered stone stairs and was thinking that those would be a bit hairy to clean the snow off :hair:. Then I adjusted my eyes and saw it was a would stack :emb:
