My neighbor was able to help out on firebox size. Most all of what I burn is rounds. I try not to cut any trees that I have to split. I like to keep it no bigger than a 20" base.
I was referring to you giving out the firebox size, thanks neighbor. Its a stock OWB, I have not had it ported yet. Not sure if huskihl ports boilers or just saw.
-10f, clear and sunny. Our chilly stretch continues. We had light snow all day yesterday with minor accumulation. Looks like the stove will need a reload in a hour or two.
Firebox - 50"L x 36"H x 30"W Door - 23"W x 23"H --- It was on post #33580 Yooper The longest I have cut was 48" but mom and the kids were having trouble loading them. Dropped down to 24" then 20" and settled on 18" and we stack 2 deep and a wall sideways to help slow the natural draft down a bit and extend the burn times.
-4* this AM loaded the OWB with some of that Shagbark and Red Oak last night thermostat set at 72* another cold night expected tonight.
Looks like one more week of cold rain, before a week of springtime temps. Had freezing rain again this morning. Fortunately it’s not cold enough to cause Texas size pileups.
We are usually the cold spot of the area (lucky us) but this morning, the radio had near 10 degrees cooler than us. Odd.......99 thought the indoor/outdoor thermometer was pooping out!
