A yellow jacket harassed me while drinking a beer earlier this evening. I remained calm, it left and I resumed drinking.

Those little buggers can be brutal.

We stirred a nest up once while drinking and four wheeling. There we sat stuck in a mud hole.....windows up......over 100 degrees outside. Yellow jackets fogging the truck.

    Good times....

I would like to keep bees but I'm surrounded by fields of engineered crops that would kill them. :(

Can't throw a rock without hitting a nicotine derivative laced field around here. There are few that still keep bees...but not many.

I haven't seen a yellow jacket yet this year. The only bees I've seen are the ones that got trucked in when the apple blossoms were in bloom. It's strange as I'll usually see a few buzzing around now and again.

Makes me wonder what the farmers are spraying on the orchards this season. If I start to grow a third arm, I'll be sure to let everyone know.

Best day in a long time weather wise. Temps in the mid 70s with low humidity and a chilly wind. I LOVE IT! Everyone else is "It's so cold!" Ha ha....off to enjoy the outdoors.
