It's hard to describe to someone who has never had it, but that a pretty good definition. I remember that just the weight of a single sheet on my toe was excruciating.
I have had the misfortune of getting gout a few times. Nothing as bad as you all, but it sure hurts when it attacks.
Uh ya maybe. Your as big as a house and thinking you should up that to 140oz water and Dave these guys work great for the chits. 2 in the morning and 2 at night. No problems.
I've never been officially diagnosed, but every once in a while I get a stabbing pain in my big toe. Yowser! Got it one time real bad on vacation. Doing a lot of walking. Ugh. Nothing like you guys have though.
Allopurinol for me too. Blessed that it is the only medicine I am on. My clinic NP who is just a couple years older, is astounded. I take the medicine daily, so I can indulge in the things I would need to avoid. I got it first time on a Friday afternoon after finishing a brat off the grill. Folks at the cookout told me what I had. Suffered until Monday. Seems the organ food gets me, rather than the ethyl alcohol. I know some people who get kidney stones from the other gout med, don’t recall the name. The allopurinol doesn’t have that side effect.
Yup - first case was in my late 20’s. OMG - the pain - big toe on my right foot. Nothin like it! I avg a flair up every 5-7 years. Indomethacin works for me. They say alcohol and lots of meat can bring it on. I don’t drink, never have, and am a rather strict vegetarian - so who knows....
Yup! You got it! Feel lucky that's the only place it has hit. If you feel a pain in the ankle or knee out of a clear blue sky for no reason, it's most likely gout!
Haven’t had a flare up in years thankfully but I’ve gotten it in my big toe and also my right wrist. You can imagine the jokes I heard as a teenager with a sore right wrist!
Had the night from hell last night. Ankle swelled up AGAIN! Pain was Incredible as you all know. I drank about 2 gallons of water yesterday but the 4 Beers I had watching the Super Bowl must have caught up to me...
