Well, after cleaning up my Jonsered 2255, to install the new Oregon clutch drum and rim, I looked down on the floor and spotted this O-Ring! I can't see how it went on before or after the needle bearing, or clutch drum, or clutch. I posted two pictures one of the O-ring laying on the welding table, and one where I have installed it on the brake lever assembly. It fits perfectly there but since I did not knowingly remove it, I am not entirely sure. Does anyone know for sure?
Yep, that's a pretty good site. Funny though, it didn't show that in any of the diagrams. But I studied what I could see, and looked at the saw again and I am pretty certain that it has to go where I put it in the picture, because there is no where it could have come off of the clutch cover itself. I will need to pay attention to that if I have to pull the clutch cover in the woods, which I have before.
Are you sure it came from the saw and was not dropped from something else and you just now noticed it?
This shows an O-ring; part 11 https://www.ereplacementparts.com/jonsered-cs2255-200903-chain-saw-parts-c-511202_511205_512218.html On the clutch cover page.
No, that's the problem with owing a Husky or Jonsered in this part of the country. I am sure there are some independents that work on them and I need to find a good one to fall back on if needed. I am told there is one about 30 miles from me, but it's out of way pretty bad for me and I hate the drive, and traffic to get there. But will probably end up there one of these days.
Well, I am pretty sure as the floor was swept up, not long before, but it's not impossible. I was hoping someone else with a Jonsered CS2255 would know or be able to look under their clutch cover, as I believe it goes where I have it in the picture, showing the O-ring inserted at the end of the Chain Brake lever. There is a groove there that seems to hold it. And I figured I scraped it out of there when try to clean up the saw a little.
