31f and snow at this early hour, falling to 16f and strong NW wind by noon....then we fall into the deep freeze well below zero by Saturday morning. I am breaking out my parka today for the first time this winter.

Good morning everyone! Off to get my blood drawn first thing. After that, once it warms up a bit, I'll move some wood in and shovel the deck. It'll be a sunny day, up to 40°!
We installed a new router yesterday, my husband doing the wiring, and me chatting with tech support. Glad that's over with! Also burned the broken handle out of my sledge in the woodstove. Keeping my husband in retirement projects. 5IchkJR.jpg
    Have a great day!

You didn't want to watch the broke handle burn in the fireplace?

Not out for revenge, it was my own fault that it broke, I overstruck.

Morning All. I think we are in for rain, rain and more rain until next week. Not raining right now, though. Off to Mom's today. Spent yesterday doing bookwork but got to make a candle at the end of the day. We will see how it burns today. Just used the remains of two candles that had melted down past the wicks. Haven't played with candle making for a loooong time.

Wood boiler install hit a snag. Chimney parts are backordered due to Covid. The waiting begins.

    Everyone have a great day.

It rained a little overnight, just enough to put a good layer of ice on the driveway. I had to use cleats to walk down to the mailbox to mail a letter. It is now trying to snow but I don't think it will amount to much. 33 this morning with dropping temps during the day.

Good morning all. Started out at 14. Currently 22. Heading to 40. Must have warmed up more. The sunshine is actually melting the snow on the bushes. Can see water dripping.
Seen highs in mid teens and single digit lows. So shouldn't be too bad next week.
    Have a great day everyone.
    Stay safe and stay healthy.

Good day y'all. Hope y'all are having a TREMENDOUS THURSDAY. We have warmed up to maybe 50° from 22° this morning. Last day of 7AM-7PM for me, off for 2 days...woo hoo...going on a day trip to west GA, almost to Alabama, picking up something for the homestead. I'll share pics when we get back. I hope y'all stay warm with those sub 0 temps coming in...:shiver::shiver:...
    Be encouraging, lend a hand...
I will thank THE LORD for my blessings and the news I didn't get...

Starting mid morning it has been snowing pretty steadily. Maybe 4 inches so far.

I will break out the snow blower after it stops and before it gets real cold.

We have an electric boiler for heat and an electric hot water tank for washing. We are getting a taste of what it would be like running electric all year. Much, Much more expensive than our wood system.

He is recently retired, right. I find campinspecter hiding in the boiler room from anymore jobs I can find for him. He still says he is enjoying me being retired.
