We are at the center of the worst area here. Were predicted to get 12"-18" maybe more... Been snowing over 30 hours straight now and we are over two feet of snow with drifts well north of three feet and it's still coming down strong. Radar shows most of it finally heading north. (Hold on to your azz Brian, it's a biggin) It's been full blown horizontal snow since early afternoon, difficult to see without goggles. Gonna get out in the woods with the snowshoes after we get cleaned up here.
It was supposed to start about 2 in my area but it was evaporating before getting to us. Started here about 6pm. Extremely fine flakes that were coming down fast so it looked like it was foggy not snowing.
Well it stopped for now anyway , forecast says maybe a little more today. Ended up with 16 inches from what the local news claims. Hard to tell; with the wind some places you can see the grass and other areas 4 foot drifts. Looks like I will be busy today.
As I head to work in Mechanicsburg PA, it is still snowing! I’d guess we got about 10-12” all said and done. The sleet packed it down a bit yesterday evening.
We had 12" on the dot. A lot of drifting though. I had spots that were bare, and others with 2 feet. Still waiting on the 42" storm I ordered earlier this year.
I win???? damm storm came over and just sat down on this area and spun around in place for more 36 hours. I have drifts over five feet high. .
10"-12" so far, still dumping. Saying maybe another 4"-8". I'm still waiting for the big one..... like 44"+ to make it fun.
We are cleaning out from 28” locally. Now the evening news is talking about another Nor’easter for Sunday into Monday.
I'm hearing the same! Let it be! Edit; Snow ahead and behind the next arctic cold front. Depending on the track of the next system, either inland bringing some snow in scenario 1 or it goes out to sea wrapping around tons of moisture bringing the potential of a blizzard in scenario 2.
I got somewhere between 10 & 12". Didn't measure until after snowblowing in the afternoon and at that time had 10". Since we got drizzle and the temps were up in the mid 30's for a good portion of the day, the snow packed down and became a lot heavier to move than what I moved in the morning. I'm almost out of places to put the snow, so I'm hoping the next system isn't a blizzard. Although I haven't gotten a whole lot of snow this year, almost every bit of it has stuck around. It has been mild, but no sun so any meltage just packs it in hard and it goes nowhere from there. I still got snow from the December storm of 22" (not all of of course). My snowblower can barely throw over some of the berms now.
Ended up with about 6-10" locally so the weather guys pretty much nailed it for our area. I spent 14 hours plowing yesterday doing just over 40 driveways...white gold!
You're a hard worker no doubt about it!!! Full time teacher, firewood connoisseur, driveway plower, what else do you do? I've debated advertising to do local driveways with the Kioti within a mile or so of my house. Its tough though, because my work hates not having us come in directly before and after snow events, and I don't want customers not getting plowed out in a timely manner. Plus a lot of people on my road have tractors, UTV's or quads.
