Yep. That cold spell is supposed to stay Friday night and last several days.

I suppose I should do and literally dig out the locust, apple, and ironwood from the last of the old garden stack wall. There's about 2 sleds worth of wood in that.

My wife was saying that we should go to the local sledding hill. I don't have any sleds though. But I do, my wood hauling jet sled. We can both fit in it at the same time. Hmmm. I'll have to check the beer stock before attempting this though. :shiver::banana:

From what I saw we had a low of -5 this morning, I loaded up the Liberty with some ash and maple.

I didn't burn either stove overnight, I set the furnace on 64 which means our bedroom will be 69.

30* and snowing. Went from 10-14", to 4-8", now 8-12"predictions :headbang:. Might as well ask the magic 8 ball the weather forecast. Chunks of ash, cherry doing the job.

Not too cold here, but we're in the middle of our snowstorm. Got maybe 4-6" so far with another 6-8" predicted tonight. Fully expecting to lose power tonight, although the fact I have the generator gassed and ready should prevent that
This has reminded me that I need to get a 1-fire-sized firewood rack next to the patio door so I don't have to actually go out to get wood.

Woke up this morning to the local weather lady's screechy voice saying "the polar vortex is coming". Nice for a couple days, then snow Thursday & cold after that. 0F predicted for a couple nights this weekend. Moved snow piles & plowed the log yard out so the crusty stuff is gone before more snow. If the cold comes we'll get lake effect with it. 20F & dropping now, wind has let up & it's pretty nice. White Oak in the boiler.

Still under the Nor'easter going on 30 hours now. Well over 24" of snow so far and still going strong. Drifts over three feet, plows haven't even tried to come up our street the whole day, they're having a hard enough time keeping up on the highways and main roads. Going to need the snow shoes just to get to the firewood sheds.

10 here. A full load of Cherry and Beech from last night is still keeping things warm. Nothing for snow here yet. Looks like we may get lucky and only get a few inches. Fine by me. :picard:Now they are saying 1-3 today and 1-3 tonight.

Dave, glad you dodged the bullet. We didn’t dodge it here. Well over 20” of heavy snow. At 11pm last night they said 19” had fallen. It’s still snowing lightly. Windy, but it is winding down...I hope. It’s supposed to be on and off snow showers until 8 tonight. With all of us still recovering from the CCP virus it is not going to be fun even with the snowblower removing this chit.
