Oh, and I forgot to mention that the figure I quoted includes hot water.

I hear ya . I’ve been buying 6 - 20 bags and after all that moving from the store to the car then in the house , sometimes it adds up to a ton or more pellets moved

It's either schlep the bags or pay for propane - and I can see that going from $3.50/gal back up to $5.50/gal the way things are going.

At least I can keep a couple of tons in the basement and one ton in the under house garage, so just bring up a bag a day for the P43.

I usually buy a ton at a time. So I load the ton into the Explorer (okay, sometimes I have help from an employee but not always), then unload at the house. So best case scenario is I move 1.5 tons (if the employee moves loads 1/2 the bags into the truck).

If that ton goes into the garage, then later when I have room it gets moved again into the basement (so I have lifted 2.5 tons for that ton). If that ton went into a shed, then I load it into the truck again to unload it into the house - for a total of 3.5 tons. Hey, I need my exercise anyway.

I'd highly suggest starting stockpiling pellets, "the way things are going".

I used to buy a ton at a time but every year I had to clean out all the crap that found its way into my shed. I made the command decision to only buy 20 bags at a time. Home and Hearth is right down the street from me and I go by there all the time so it made sense to let them store the pellets for me. I've done this for the last 2 years. I hope to upgrade my shed next year to a shed/workshop/motorcycle garage and I will have a lot more space so maybe I will go back to buying a ton at a time.

Not a bad suggestion. Hopefully I will get my shed/garage but that "something" happens. In any case I will watch things very carefully.

Is it cruel and unusual punishment to feed a XXXXXXXX or a XXXXXXXX hot sauce by the bottle I's an independent critter. It seems to keep squirrels at bay.
