Had a couple of fellow Long Island wood hoarders drop off some BL rounds on my front stoop today. I was at my sons deck hockey game and my wife sends me a text saying someone just dropped off wood at our front door. Lol. Thank you guys. I’m thinking Stoveaclause & Stovehamster?
Not me. I was splitting and burning Norway Maple all day in my yard and @Stovehamster was getting his Covid vaccination .What does that piece of paper say?
I zoomed in on it. It appears to say buZZsaw BRAD on it. Wood is Locust also. Could only be one man! My only question is...... Why didnt buZZsaw BRAD drop off a couple samples at my house as well!?!?!? Im a few blocks away!!!
For that matter, I’m from LI originally (and could see Connecticut from my backyard across the Sound), and am just a few states away now....! Come on, man! LoL.
My wife grew up in Massapequa and her dad moved to Rocky Point after a divorce. Spent some weekends in Rocky Point this summer fixing his house up for sale after he passed. We were just in Massapequa 2 weekends ago visiting her mom. She had some maple trees taken down over the summer and I wished I could have been there to take some wood. Not worth the 3.5hours of driving each way or renting a truck to haul it.
Close up on the note. Have to look at my ring doorbell as well. Buzzsaw Brad you were on the Island today? Lol
I’ll be more than happy to add a few more splits of bl to my fireplace stash. I’m burning oak and bl as we speak. Great night for a fire.
I have been burning since this morning and dont plan on stopping the stove until I have to go back to work on Wednesday. Yes I'm already counting on 2 snow days!
Niceeeee. If my 10 year old didn’t have a deck hockey game today my fireplace/firepit would be cracking all day today. At some point tomorrow I’ll be sure to have both on line
I’m right in Massapequa Park. Was at Lou Anthony Park today by the Massapequa train station for deck hockey.
I definitely need to get my hands on some maple one day. I do love oak but the 2-3 year drying time I can do without. How fast does split maple dry for you?
