    Yeah, that was me. After that little miscalculation I threw a rope up over the top and ran it to a come along I attached to another tree off to the right side of the picture. Put some tension on the line and finished the cut and it dropped off to the right side.

    Same thing happened to me last year with dead ash that had a lean. I'm getting too old for that.:saw:

    On the plus side now you have a fair amount pre split!

    Yeah, there was a good notch in the face about a third of the way through. With it leaning that much I should have plunge cut the center of my back cut to relieve some of the tension on the back side of tree.

    Yep, did that once with a Locust leaner, never again! Scared the crap outta me. Bore cuts for me from there on. Glad you're safe & got it down!
