I took the opposite approach with my "wife knows about" saw purchases. I started at the top and got a 880 with a 60". Much easier to buy saws that are cheaper than the previous purchase. And it helps to honestly NOT know how many saws you own, cuz knowing would indicate a underlying collecting disorder. Now I can honestly say I don't have any 73cc saws so negotiations are in the works. Having a gap between 67cc and 81cc is just not acceptable.
I had an early model 441 and was not impressed. It went down the road in a month. I replaced it with a 461. That's better! Also, Stihl pulled the 441 from the market for quite a while then reintroduced it again. I never really knew why. If ya go for the 441, check it out very well.
That's totally unacceptable to have gaps......any gaps. Good news is there's still time to repent. For just some measly bucks you can help feed the poor starving children of your ope dealer.
If i end up getting a 500i i doubt ill want any more saws. Unless of course i find a great deal on one.
Dont discount a nice 044 if you can find one. I got a nice one from huskihl last April and it's one of my go to saws. I regret not ordering the xtra sausage.
