However there MAY BE some black locust along the highway tomorrow. Will Brad miss both a scrounge AND a new MS500i? Only the man himself knows the answer...
I bought a buck of chains, oil and other stuff... it was $1,300 plus or minus 50 I think. They are finally getting out.... but the dealer said orders of pro saws are behind by 50%.....so if you need a big saw....buy it. Stihl is contracted to Fema....one good storm....very few saws if any. You might sneak a home Depot level saw. I only lack the 661 from my arsenal at this point
First order of business: remove warning stickers. Second: Find something to cut. I'm already very impressed with it. Easier to start than the 562. Not just because it's fuel injected but pulling it over requires less force. Once it's running, the throttle response is UNREAL. Can't want to put it to work... Only negative I noticed is I can feel the additional 1.5 lbs over the Husky... but it's well worth the 20cc jump I'm sure... Got the 28" light bar and the 20" standard. Extra chain for the standard because I'll use it more. My dealer was out of Stihl chains in 20" so I grabbed 2 Husky XCut chains. I have been impressed with them on other saws so I'm fine with them as a substitution.
I was at my OPE dealer yesterday to buy a bar. I was waiting and "wandered" over to the Stihl display. $1409 for the 500i which wasnt on the shelf. I asked the lady and they are getting two any day now. OHHHHHHH is it tempting. She offered to put one aside for me too.
She is really good at giving me a discount even though i dont ask. The bar yesterday was she cut the price and the two new saws (170, 194T) i bought new were discounted...oops the 170 was on sale at the time. Im doubting they will as its a new item and only two coming in. Does anyone know the "nprmal" MSRP for a 500i? What was your cost OTD?
