Low 20's this morning and we got about 2 inches of snow. Went to church and will clean off the driveway after lunch and before the game. Still burning paper birch.
Went for my walk this morning and shoveled the 3" we got overnight. The day here was sunny but "brisk". Heading for below zero overnight.
29 here now and 22 predicted overnight. Have some cherry and ash going in the stove. Took a load down to a friend that lets me hunt his property.
5 degrees here in Southern Vermont. I just reloaded the Lopi in the living room with Red oak splits and some butternut on my 2 am bathroom run. Been running non stop for a few days now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
14 here. Warmer than yesterday but still cold. Burning some shorts, uglies and cookies that I want to get rid of.
0 out there again. The Wood Gun went right through full load of mixed hardwood in 8 hours. Reloaded with a partial load of some Pine splits early. The bubbling goo is running sometimes as well. Such a heat demand that the big tank temp can’t stay up high enough which causes the oil burner to kick on.
12F. Just tossed in a big pine split to nuke some coals. Sounds like we may get up to 20F today. Not complaining.
minus 2* this fine sunny morning. Loaded the OWB late yesterday afternoon with more of the SBH and RO nice warm 72* in the house.
When we hit - 6.3 last night, I ended up going with the furnace, when we got out of the sleeper this morning the temp was 1.3 so I went with the pellet stove. Today we'll put in two loads of firewood and then I'll remove some snow from in front of the outside fireplace so I can have a nice fire tomorrow.
Right at the freezing mark with a heavy dose of wintry mix falling. Just loaded the boiler with some more black locust.
6 this morning and paper birch is doing OK. Good coals after 8 hours makes for an easy relight. The oil furnace will kick in for awhile on cold morning until I get the stove up to temp.
Raining today and 66f forecast high for tomorrow. I think one stove will get to rest tomorrow. Daffodils are breaking ground everywhere and I got a camellia japonica that never stopped blooming this winter. Would not be surprised if the tree frogs come out tomorrow.
Calling for snow tonight and tomorrow. I hope we get the same as we did yesterday which was practically nothing.
I ran the pellet stove this morning but shut that down before 2. I started the wood stove around 3 p.m. with red and sugar maple.
