Guy from my saw shop had a neighbor needing some trees removed. Showed up and be darned if it wasn’t 29 white ash trees ! Got 16 of them felled today and weather permitting will hit it again early tomorrow. Majority of them are fairly small but they all make wood ! And I am able to sell some of the straight branches to an ax maker here. Didn’t get many pics , too busy to think about it. I will get some more as the job progresses.

I bought my 194T in April to replace an older top handle and love it. Also have a same size rear handle (201) for limbing as well. My fear is get Lax one handing the top handle. Ive owned a 170 which was good for the same task. Hoard on and work safe!
Yeah , Safety is always a priority for me but I will say my one and only accident in the last 20 years was with a top handle. damm near cut my finger off
No I am not. Had I known all the particulars before I agreed to it I would have probably charged him. Kind of a buddy deal to start with, we all know how those can go.... either way I am happy to get the wood and enjoy the work.
Yikes! Glad youre okay and a good learning experience. Couple weeks ago i was cutting alongside a tree service. The guy showed me a scar from top handle accident that happened to him right after TS Isaias. He was in the bucket truck too. Ive used a circular saw for years and i compare a top handle to using one. The older i get the more safety conscience i get.
agreed. And same here. Don’t recover like I use too that’s for sure. No kidding, about 5 minutes before I cut my fingers I was was limbing a big oak with a 462 and 28” bar, knicked my boot. I immediately took a break and reset , told myself to slow down. I decided to get the top handle and that happens. It was a wake up call for sure. Could have been worse,32 stitches in 3 fingers...
Got a few loads of the ask out today and a good amount split and stacked. Currently laying on my heating pad waiting for my daughter to finish cooking supper !! A good day indeed.
