Me too. I've offered wood to several people over the years and this is the first time someone's taken me up on the offer. It's good to be in a position to help.

I hope that’s not a Cadillac eldorado. That would be a little black smoke rolling.

Yeah Larry I don’t trust those rivers. Brackish tidal rivers don’t make good ice.

I’ve always smelted in northern Maine in April-May. Never did the winter thing.

Shin pond area sometimes fish River. Wife is from Sherman so we know a few people who know the hot spots and when to go. We haven’t gone for quite a few years now. Just got home from Fort Kent, they have ice and shacks on the lakes at least don’t know how safe. Not much snow at all, sledding is horrid. Guess they’ve had several good wrecks already because trails are so bad.

Yes it is. I hate going there to begin with but now it’s like the Bronx of the 70s a lot of places. Waterville isn’t too far behind. Won’t mention the Dirty Lew. And then there’s Sanford. Bad thing is there are a lot of good people stuck in these places and they don’t deserve to deal with the mess society has created. Very rarely ever heard of murders and shootings years ago here, now it’s weekly and 95% is drug involvement.

I feel bad for them. This is their income, there nothing other than working in the woods or driving truck. The whole economy depends on sledding in the winter. I was at the ski doo dealer today, he said the only thing keeping him going is they were so far behind they are catching up but if it doesn’t show he doesn’t know what they will do in a few weeks.

Buddy went to tech school in LA, we live close to mass but we are still a rural town pretty sheltered growing up. He said it was crazy, thought he was literally in Cali!
