In MA it's called an LTC class A but however ya refer to it, I just got mine after long 7 months. Should have applied a long time ago but here I am now. Not carrying until I get good with the firearm which is a S&W 9mm model 6904 my sister gave me. Psyched that we are allowed to talk about guns here. I think this place is going to work out great! Here is a pic of my new to me soon to be carry. Just waiting on club membership approval to start practicing.
Congrats... that's no minor accomplishment in that state.. The process is all about personalities and agendas... Oops.. don't want to go down the politics road!!!
Yah, guns are kosher here. But no politics. As for CCW, I have one here and in 12 other states. Here a CCW also allows you to open carry, as well as carry in a vehicle, which is what I do more often. Some urban counties in this state banned open carry, but I do not live in one. I prefer single action semi-autos myself, like the model 1911 or Glock .45, but they are a tad large to carry. I keep them loaded in the glove compartment though. I have posted some AR-15 stuff here as well...
Nice Gun Xena. Good size, take your time and always keep it pointed down range. Safety, safety, safety. Finger off the trigger- FOTT
Thats a nice gun and always the right move getting you ccw/chp what ever its called. I bet it was one hell of a time getting that up there in MA. I got one in VA and it was a breeze and now theyve made it even easier you can do most of it online.
Thx you guys! Yes it was a pain in the butt. My two siblings both got theirs a long time ago so it's been a long time coming for me. I have several guns that were my Dads to show and tell that folks here may enjoy. Will post them this week.
Long time getting here also but that was due to the Governor and his shenanigans in office more than anything else. Didn't call him Diamond Jim for nothing.
It's ridiculously easy to get a CCW here in my county. I've had one for going on two decades. Prefer the mid size Glocks and pocket .380s. I've shot IDPA. Always scored in top quarter for accuracy but bottom quarter for speed.
CCW is only something we can dream of here in NJ. Technically we are a carry state but getting approval is like hitting the lotto. You either need to be LEO, a judge, or know somebody high up. Congrats on getting yours and glad to hear your taking your time and getting used to the gun first. Alot of folks i bet wouldn't even know what to do if and when they needed it. In the class you took did they teach you about the use of deadly force?
Same in California. When I was getting my multi-state CCW, they said that CA had given out all of 3 (yes, three) CCW permits the previous year. And of course all my guns are illegal in CA now. My 1911 was a 'junk gun" there. I had a special permit there for the AR-15 that said I could not sell it, loan it out, will it to anyone, or otherwise transfer it to anyone in-state. So I moved to another state... OryGUN.
Its sad that it is that difficult for a tax paying, law abiding citizen to have a hard time obtaining and concealed carrying a firearm..... Congrats to you, Xena! Nice to see you using that beautiful 2nd Amendment!!!
You mean what little is left of the 2nd amendment... but do not get me started on gun politics! (you need a finger wagging smiley here)
