A bit short but most of us have not yet had to fill the stove as we have not needed much heat this year. I have a feeling that could change soon.
Uglies throw lots of heat too. Have you tried noodling blacktail? What percentage of your wood is hardwood?
Uglies are a pain but when you burn a bunch up it feels good to know that you are leaving your regular stacks alone! Almost like cheating the Power Company twice.
These uglies are mostly noodled pieces from 2 huge maples I had cut down 3 years ago. On average I'd guess 50% of my firewood is red alder and big leaf maple (some paper birch too). It doesn't have the BTUs of hardwoods in other parts of the country.
Yea so mild here i just add a few pieces at a time without loading and shutting down the air, it just gets too hot
