My friend woods has several standing dead white oaks...massive trees. Then right next to them is another one seemingly unaffected. Still plentiful living oaks around. Drive anywhere when the leaves are on trees and youll see skeleton forests.
I didnt feel too badly, but I.did not go all out either. I did some mild jogging at werk, hopefully get into better shape in general. Used to be able to split an hour or more at a higher steady pace. Scavenging more rounds tomorrow. As we age I guess we gotta stick with it.....I'm even thinking of doing some yoga-type stretching a few.days/week. Sca
I was beat this morning. Felt old. I have maybe three cords of rounds awaiting the Fiskars if you and your son are feeling ambitious this week? Plan on working on them this week. Colder and no mud so ideal conditions for splitting IME! Hoard on and work safe!
Welp...feeling it in the lower back today...not bad but feelin it. The boy and I cut down 2 trees for a neighbor. It was one of those jobs that was almost wasnt worth it...4 hours, i cut, he hauled brush, 4 or 5 truckloads of maple to be hauled off when we have time, $20 each (covers gas and oil)....but getting to know/helping a neighbor out, made the day worth while. And, I did that on no breakfast, just water and half a cuppa coffee straight up. Im stoked that was FAT that got burned up!!! Sca
The kiddo and I headed out for a little splitting...32*, sunny, slight breeze. Have more for tomorrow, then we'll have to go scrounging again. Somewhere a while back i thought the neighbors would look outside and cringe...today, if they looked, they cringed. Sca
One of my MS250s has this problem periodically. The kill switch wire has a terminal that comes loose out of its holder under the cover. I tweaked it with a pair of needle nose pliars last time to be tighter and it hasn’t did it again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Miscellaneous Red and White Oak, Ash and a couple of smaller pignut hickory. Snow really melted the last couple of days and the mud begins
