Funny how you feel the need to try to tear someone down that you don't even know.

    I won't do that.

I recall that there was a judge Judy episode where a couple kids rented a cabin and took an old sled, could even be an old Yami, and rode it on the roof, causing damage to the cabin. They were daring each other to jump the roof and even posted a video on FB or some other social media. I immediately thought of enticer Larry.

Lol. My buddy had one just like that. Black and gold Exciter. That Exciter and the snojet 440 were the speedsters of the old iron we had access to.

Well, sometimes Google tells lies :BrianK:

Honestly though, I think the quality of large household appliances has really gone downhill. A conspiracy to get more sales I figure. My grandparents have a hot water boiler almost as old as my dad (and only recently replaced a decades old fridge), but seems like everyone I know with newer ones are replacing them every few years. The boilers seem to be the worst ones for it.

WEIRD!!! WWW did a cabin in the mountains (no electricity or water), foot path only. The guys had to cut down trees to make a path wide enough for our quad & trailer you all helped me determine the right kind a few Christmas's ago for it (thanks again everyone :) ). They had to haul out the entire rip off and then all the roofing materials on it o_O

Every year the drifts get high enough snowmobilers try to jump and mess up the roof, and the years added up. He did another roof on a cabin where snowmobilers hit the window every year trying to jump it too.

Oh, the quality of appliances now is definitely not as good as they used to be. Just look at refrigerators now. Aside from Sub-Zero, and other ultra spendy ones, they will last 10-12 years. That's it. Typically the compressor will fail around that time. If that won't fail, some board on them will. It sure did with our fridge. Bought it new when we got our house in 08. Compressor went after 11 years. Replacement compressor was too much to bother with, despite the fridge being like new condition. It seems everyone had or had an old fridge that went into the garage to be a beer fridge. Those are pretty much always old.

I was literally just having this conversation with my oldest brother. His gf's kitchen fridge is at least 30, if not 40 yrs old. On it's last legs, some days it doesn't work so well.

I told him to replace it before the old one fails. I also told him that refrigerators have been a hot commodity with many shortages in the supply chain. So find one, and buy it. Or deal with consequences of supply shortages.

Drinking and snowmobiles seem to go pretty well together.

I've never seen a beer holder on a snowmobile, so it's possible that the phrase " hold my beer" was invented by snowmobilers.

Supply has started to catch back up somewhat now...to the point that you are seeing sales again...we just bought a new 7 CF chest freezer from Menards, they had 19 of them in stock...when I saw that I thought "they are getting ready for a sale" sure enough, a week or so later it went on sale, then had a rebate too...with a 1 day overlap of the two...guess which day I went :)
Our old freezer is still working, but is an energy hog compared to the new ones (as proven by my Kill-A-Watt) and the old is of unknown age...heck, it was really old when I got it 20+ years ago! Even though it will probably still be running when the new one is dead...I figured the new one will by then have more than paid for itself in energy savings...especially since the old one is still working and can be sold for a little offset $.
Speaking of paying for itself...I'm still   at that post savemoney made about the Home Depot windows earlier!
