Looks like a tough spot to work in. Would hiring a brushmower be worth it to take care of all that invasive stuff? Looks like you salvaged some nice BL rounds out of there though.
I thought about using a brushmower, I think it may be too hard to operate with all the field stone there. I have a stihl commercial weed eater that I can put a metal blade on. I'll probably use that on the thorn thickets and just rent a large chipper to deal with the brush piles I have.
I have a good Stihl brush cutter with multiple heads I can use. I started using the circular saw blade on it to cut brush but I recently bought the tri-blade and that seems to work better for what I wanted to cut. My brush cutter is in my sig line.
Nice work in that mess Biddleman , walking a leaner down is a legit method for sure, requires some care & planning is all. I had a mess of vine in an area of my property as well, it was taking a toll on some nice Hickory trees. Got sick of it one day & took a choker to the base of a big vine & started pulling with the winch. I couldn't believe how much I pulled out in one shot. In a couple hours I had a huge pile of vines that I set fire to, trees look way better & so does the area in general. Now if I see one coming I'll cut it off before it makes it's way into the tree.
