I remember C-rations in the military in the early 1970's.....the peanut butter and crackers were the only consistently good items to eat.

Ditto....I still have a P-38 on my key chain also :handshake: but I've lost my dog tags somewhere over the last 49 years.

Those ingredients are pretty benign, really.

I only have one dog tag left. Old girlfriend gave everything back to me except that one dog tag. No idea why she would want to retain that!

Dang, I sure do miss that dog tag! :D

Wow, not sure how I missed this thread!

PB is part of my life, I could live solely on PB. I can't get enough of it, probably because I don't eat it all the time due to always watching my weight. It goes with a ton of things, its just awesome!! Sometimes I lose control and wipe out half a jar, my wife comes yelling "did you get into the PB again"................ There is a place down in Smithville, NJ that makes it homemade with a touch of honey. Dang that stuff is good, I got some back in Dec when we visited, it's like Gold! Polished it off New Year's Day!

I've found some alternatives to PB for the weight/health conscious folks. PBFit, Better N Peanut Butter, and PB2, while they can't even come close to the real thing they aren't half bad and can satisfy the craving (at least for me, to some I am sure it taste like plaster). I use PBfit often with Bananas or make a shake with it with a touch of stevia.

I've had 2 of those PB whiskeys.

They are very good. I'll need to try the Revelstoke, as I like their other flavors.

I use the powdered peanut butter at times also, and it is the only peanut butter I keep in the house at all times. I too can get into that eating way too much of a jar in a sitting mode - and when I do that, it is mixed with honey or maple syrup so I might as well be eating candy bars. The powdered stuff is made from peanuts, just with the fat taken out and it mixes in well with lowfat yofurt.

So glad you enjoy it too!!

I love it, and its super healthy so you can over do it a bit and not feel guilty. I have that in the house at all time as well, I go through it constantly. Over the holidays I was over doing it as usual and figured what the hec so I tore into some jars of regular PB along with that fresh homemade stuff with a touch of honey. Needless to say I've gained a good 3-4lbs over the holidays, lol!
