I removed a bunch of dead pine from the property and had a nice fire. Some of the dead pine came from off the driveway about 15 feet in and three off a trail on the southside of the house.

The shoulder isn't 100 percent from what I'm feeling in my shoulder but handling the chainsaw today, it felt fine. We'll see what tomorrow morning brings, the same feeling or pain but whatever it is, I'll give it a day off.

Yes it was, it was a nice day to be outside and the fire felt nice.

It was in the mid-30's here today and sunny this afternoon. So, I filled two buckets with water and hand washed/rinsed thge truck in the driveway.

Had to get all of that salt and road dust off of it. I don't use soap, just water and a large sponge-then rinse it. Always use 5 gallons of water and thats it! :handshake:

Got some ice chipped of the driveway also. Just about completely asphalt now!

With some colder weather coming in and one of our 4 x 4 inside racks opening up tomorrow, we put in two good loads of yellow birch, sugar maple, red maple and some cherry. Friday we'll get more Ironwood in so we have that 4 x 4 rack full of Ironwood.

yooperdave , our neighbor across the road finished chipping the ice off his driveway today, it took him three days.

The latest forecast show highs in the 20's, lows in the singles. Not too bad at all! The 14" of snow we were forecasted is not being mentioned at all.....just "maybe 10"-12" in some isolated spots....probably miss us" is what is being said now.

I think I'll see if that new barely used plow needs dusting tomorrow.............. :zip:  :rofl: :rofl:

Don't forget the pledge! I think the graph I saw this morning has us in the 3-5 range but that has dropped from the first forecast I saw.

I helped the wife with the grocery shopping and after we put that away, I scraped about two or three inches of snow off the driveway with the hopes of getting it down to gravel before the cold front moves in.

The shoulder feels great today so after I get a few small jobs done tomorrow, I'll rid the property of some small dead pine.

I was just telling the wife last night that I wanted to take this Red Maple down this week, we received another 4 inches of wet snow overnight and that did the trick, our trail is opened back up. Pics 1415 & 16 are the buds from the downed Maple.

In the back gully we had a Cherry that came down and took part of a birch down, just more work.

The shoulder is getting better but still not 100 percent so I haven't been running the chainsaws or splitting. Tomorrow we'll put in another two loads of firewood.

We had that type of snow today that takes forever to land and ended up with so little that it wouldn't even be worth brushing the car off!

Everything I saw on the radar map starts in Southern Wisconsin then moves east.

We decided that we would put in two loads of firewood before the wind chills move in, we put in two loads that have some sugar & red maple but most of the wood is beech.

We have just over two 4 x 4 racks of this firewood inside, in picture 1498 is what we have left for this month. We still have over three face cord of cherry left (maybe four) and just under four face cord of shoulder season wood left that we planned on burning this heating season. .

I've heard of them happening up in Canada but never around here.
