I’ve had some of that at the brewery, only because it was recommended by someone I was with, and was pleasantly surprised.
I'm not big on lines either but if I was in the area I'd have to make a stop at Tree House. Been drinking craft beer (95% IPA's) for years now, and I've only gotten to try one beer from Tree House. It was great though for all the hype they get it didnt blow me away. Other Half opened up their second location about half an hour from my house. I would say they are NY's most hyped up brewery. They make good beers but I always say if its $18-22 per 4 pack then it dang well better be good, and I become a way harsher judge at that point. Quite honestly I'm more impressed with what you can get in the $10-14 4 pack range that are able to hang with the "top tier" hyped up annoying breweries.
I can agree with you on pricing but some of those pricier beers are worth it. Also agree about tree house. Very good but not buying into the hype. Trillium and Other Half is where it’s at for me
This is my favorite south Jersey beer. I would put it up against a lot of other stuff from just about everywhere
Some definitely are worth it but a lot of times it's a gamble! I made it to Trillium once, dropped about $250, and didnt regret it one bit. I still think about that DDH Melcher St IPA. Likely in my top 3 beers I've had. My favorite breweries are probably Other Half, Singlecut, anything from Vermont and over the past couple years I've really gotten to like Troegs for their seasonal releases. They are a prime example of cheaper options that can easily hang with some of the more expensive stuff. This is what the fridge looked like after Trillium, and then our trip to Vermont.
Did a beer run last week. I like Trillium a lot also but I already spent enough for this trip. Good thing is, both are close to my son's home. On the door are some Tonewood, Brotherton and Cape May brews.
I drink very little beer during the year. Maybe a bottle or two. I wonder if my not liking beer that much comes from the time I was in the army and stationed at Fort Monmouth NJ where the only beer we had on base was Ballentine and Red White and Blue. Those two aren't what one would call quality beer.
Found a 4 pk of heady topper in ct this week. Was a pleasant surprise! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I picked these up last night. I thought they would be too sweet with the syrup. It was very good and had a little kick at 6.7% Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Big elm brewery. 25 minutes from the house. By the looks of it the dog and cat got into my IPA’s!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I picked up some heady topper for the first time last week. Very good stuff! It seems a little more potent than the 8% advertised lol. The Mrs started giggling after just one
