Regulars here know i hoarded a lot of dead BL last Winter. Listed some for sale and sold a cord of dead barkless for $350. I was surprised it went as fast as it did. Hoping to get a few regulars for BL Pic of partly unloaded half cord. Had to make two trips.
Has it been a pretty normal winter there, temp wise? Been a little warmer than usual here...I have though about selling some wood, but I'm not sure the prices are real solid with this weather...maybe wait another month or so, wait for people to start running out, then try it... I dunno, never sold any...starting to get "too much" inventory though...
Yeah, a couple more loads like that and he'll be able to afford whatever he wants at the "white and orange toy shop"
If it was one year dried with bark id go a little less. I figure the bark represents 10% of the volume in a cord of BL. As i was unloading on the paved driveway where i delivered it, there was very little in the way of "wood crumbs"
I like the way you think. I have eight of them now, but whats another saw. 201 rear handle , 038 Magnum, possible a 500i. Dang CAD!
I guess price depends on where you are selling. One place here was selling for $300, from a huge pile (yeah that was dry in the center). But it sold. Online here going for $250ish/cord. I assume oak/maple. Sca
Your a bad influence. Just found the saw i wanted on FBM and locked it in for $350. Gotta meet him in the morning. Stihl 201CEM rear handle for limbing. My 170 will get sold.
Are we going to see a name change and new avatar now??? "BIG BUCK$ BU$$ $AW" would be appropriate, no?
It been warmer than usual. Temps lately have been average. Ponds and lakes have not frozen over. I think its definitely getting warmer...global warming. One good snow storm, but thats it. We can and do get cold snaps and arctic blasts.
My $350 saw! Kick azz little saw. 14" bar 35cc. My first Mtronic too. Ran it for a bit today. $750+ saw new and only couple years old. I probably could flip it for $500, but wont.
Even 250 a cord would be extremely high here! $65.00 a rick is top dollar here x 3 to make a cord = $195.00, And lots of firewood sells here for $55 to $60 a rick = face cord x 3 would only be $180 per cord. This is most usually Red Oak, or at least advertised as Red Oak.
That is interesting, here in far nor-cal a third cord of oak sells for about $100, cord for 250-300$. More for black oak. Down in San Francisco area its more like 500-600 a cord easy. But who wants to go there?
