Ive had a few jump out like that and have been waiting for something like this to happen to me. Looks like it smarted but glad it didnt hit you in the eyes or knock you out. Thanks for the pictures.
I HAVE been looking at new saws! My wife is pushing me to a husky, she is not impressed with the stihls. This happened on the one day she wasn’t with me too. Maybe she arranged to have me taken out? Glad it was me and not her. My face can be sacrificed. Definitely feeling it this morning, but seems to be staying closed. Makes it hard to drink beer snd coffee!
Well, you weren't getting any prettier anyway, so I'm glad you got to keep your teeth. If anyone asks what happened, just say "hockey" and smile. They'll go away. No amount of PPE is going to prevent a single accident. It's just going to minimize the injuries... I've been thinking about thinking about a shield for my ballistic helmet or perhaps a knight's helm. Maybe something Nordic...
You need to drink the beer through a straw !!!glad it seems to be getting better by the way the 1050 is doing good JB
I have 9 in the collection now that is how I got that picture I posted my wife printed it out and she framed a 8x10 picture it hangs in my shop next to my deskJB
About 8 years ago or so, I had a crooked piece on the splitter pop up and catch me on the edge of my chin. Cracked and chipped 2 teeth. Glad it wasn’t a direct shot to my jaw as it probably would have knocked me out
And I thought the splitter was pretty safe as long as I keep a eye on my hands. Hope you heal up quick.
That sucks. The wood types we have here split easily for the most part. I am always amazed how some of the stuff I see on this site look so tough and stringy. So far I’ve not had anything close to that happening with the splitter. Hope it heals fast and well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It did heal up ok. Has scar tissue and it's a little more sensitive but he's a tough old bird. Sure am glad it wasn't worse!
In my wife’s words today it was “the nail in the coffin for my ms311” damm thing wouldn’t start today and finally poured a little gas in the carburetor to get it going, but wouldn’t idle. I swear the damm saw is cursed. Stay tune, ms311 for sale, looking at a new husky 60cc pro saw. Will start a new thread for suggestions.
You original owner? Im surprised. Ive owned stihls for many years and they have always worked good for me. 60cc saw in Stihl would be a 362 pro model. Great saw. I own its predecessor...a 361 and love it.
