Paying job for a regular customer. Broken cherry. Trimmed the top as best i could and felled it sideways up hill. Hung up which i expected.. Top was low enough to limb and buck from top down. Got far enough and lifted top section and it went over. I got the wood too. IMG_3768.JPG IMG_3770.JPG IMG_3771.JPG IMG_3772.JPG
Big sugar maple limb from one of the Summer storms was cut and thrown into the woods by his landscaper. A little bonus wood for me. IMG_3773.JPG IMG_3774.JPG IMG_3775.JPG
Probably a face cord IMG_3779.JPG IMG_3780.JPG The cherry snapped right where this bittersweet vine was choking it. I saved the log as it looks like some cool grain where the tree grew around it. IMG_3776.JPG

You are a hard working man there Brad. As usual some more great firewood. I like also that all the wood you scrounge gets put to good use instead of just rotting away.

Sheesh, what a vine. Muscadine vines get big here. Great cherry wood!

This mystical black cherry is the main wood that I hear about, that I want to try. It doesn’t grow anywhere near me though. Never even seen it. :(

Lots a cherry around these parts. It is not the very best but I always have some in the stacks. I remember a couple winters when that is about all I burnt and did just fine.

It's decent wood, nothing crazy about it. It's about the same as elm BTU wise. It does dry out very quickly though, which is nice. I'll be cutting some this winter, that will be needed for winter of 2022-23. It will absolutely be ready by then, as it is usually ready in 1 year, if not just a summer of seasoning.
