    yes sir
Always been listed that way in my signature.

First video I’ve done of it, so I listed its birth name but made sure there was no confusion with an on shelf model. Which I liked too.

Got the other tractor out and cleaned up a blowdown On the property line I’d been meaning to do for the last 6 months.
Rest of the day in the shop with the wood stove maintaining a nice 70 degrees resharpening a chain I didn’t get right yesterday.

Great pics as always. Hope this year brings you a great season in the woods.

Personally, I'm not feeling positive about a better 2021 after this morning... I hadn't even taken my first sip of coffee when I looked out and saw a red squirrel carving his way into one of my sheds. That shed has been there 11 years with no issues and on the first day of 2021...red squirrel attack. One pellet later and one dead squirrel (and man that bugger bled all over the place). Fixed the hole in the shed (after coffee) and thought if this had happened yesterday, I would have shrugged it off as another twist of 2020. Now that it's 2021...hmmmm. Decided to forego timber work and just prepped for the two snowstorms coming in this weekend.

We stopped feeding the birds because of the red squirrels, we haven't had any problems with them coming up on the screened in porch since.

Between the bear, chipmunks, red squirrels eating the bird seed the birds weren't getting much and when the feeder was empty, the red squirrels would come up on the screens on the porch and make a chit load of noise.

What type of pellet gun do you have?

Css a cord and a half and hauled it to my storage yard. Stacked it up in the rain. Going back out cutting tomorrow with the family. 92B67019-D68E-421C-AE1A-64F369D280B3.jpeg F0C1B811-A147-4C14-8075-25852577A639.jpeg

I was able to get the squirrel when it was in the shed so I used the Crosman P1377BR .177 caliber pellet pistol. For longer ranges (and those darn pesky flying squirrels) I use a scoped Diana RWS Model 34 .22 caliber pellet rifle. I have several .22 rifles but prefer to use the pellet pistol or pellet rifle around the house.

I've been lucky enough for the most part with critters while living in the middle of the woods. I've had bear on the deck, moose under the deck (it's a raised deck so one story high), red and grey squirrels on the roof, fisher cats, racoons, coyotes, and so on but the only breed that ever really gave me a headache were flying squirrels. I have so many bear around here that I don't even bother with bird feeders but I do want to get some bat houses up.

As for the shed, I've had red squirrels nest in the roof of the firewood shed before but never any attempts to get in the enclosed utility shed. It's amazing how large of a hole it was able to create in just few minutes (granted the shed is 11 years old so the wood is weather-worn).

CS 2 wheelbarrow loads worth of random limb wood I had laying around. Also started to buck up a mulberry that blew over a while ago.

I cleaned out the dryer pipe this morning with the pellet brush, not much came out so that was nice.

Today we'll put in a few loads of cherry and then maybe we'll make the switch to better hardwood. We still have two face cord of beech and sugar maple left from last year that we didn't use but I'm hoping we can save that for this February.

We do have two face cord of ash, cherry and hopefully some maple that we can start putting in. We haven't burned much ash since we started burning so we'll see how it heats the house from the basement.

I saw the Doc today and he checked out my shoulder, my range of motion is normal and the strength test he gave me were good too. He thought it would be a good idea not to use a chainsaw for the rest of this week and next week unless I needed to. After the two week rest if everything feels better, I can use the chainsaw but should limit my use per day for the first week.

The wife has some other chit she wants done (it has been on the back burner for too long) so I'll get that done.

Work done today, I started a fire.

Sounds like some good news! Now to see if you can hold off on the sawing for a couple weeks! Nice you’ve got some stuff to keep you busy in the mean time.

At first glance, I though that was a pair of underwear lying there. Thought hey, to each their own.

I did put two sheets of plywood on the garage wall today with the boss helping out, she was wondering why I waited until January.

Getting those two sheets up will give us more room on that side which will be nice once the backhoe comes off the tractor.

The Stihl dealer called today and our pole saw was fixed, something went in the upper shaft the last time I used it. The upper drive tube assembly went, just over 86 bucks for the repair.

There isn't any funny feelings in the shoulder after lifting the sheets of plywood so that's good.

Except for getting it on the sawhorses, there wasn't much lifting. It was the bottom row and I cut two pieces of wood at the correct height so we could set the 4 x 8 sheet on and then screw it down so there wasn't any holding it in place. If it would've been the middle sheet or the top, then the shoulder would've been barking.

The 4 x 8 sheet doesn't have the danger the chainsaw does, today was just a small test on how my shoulder will feel that same day and the next morning.

There were certain movements I did with the shoulder over a week ago that didn't feel like it was strong enough, that feeling wasn't there today.

Funny how there’s always something to do isn’t it. Glad there’s stuff you can still accomplish while your shoulder continues to heal:yes:
