Yes. Absolutely. It could be way worse, but it could be a lot easier too.;)

    Here's one. As long as I don't have the 22mm version. Screenshot_20210106-110614(1).png

It is pretty much impossible to stop oil from being trapped in the diverter tray on a stock 5.0 f150. We just spray a garden hose in that area from the top to get the trapped oil out.

I’m mean no offense by this Horkn as much as people complained about the filter location and twist and spew drain plug I never have seen a relocation kit or drain plug adaptor in person.

Drives pretty good. Dad will be the main driver of the car. Definitely in much better shape than the g6. And better on gas.

So the exhaust is done on the forklift and they were working on the steering when he called.....the hydraulic pump somehow got pallet wrap sucked into it. He may be able to fix the pump, but if not a replacement pump will take 3 months to get here, and he'd "prefer" not to give the forklift back in the meantime with a hydraulic leak.

Not to sound lazy but I don't want to have to do that forklifts job with a dolly for 3 months....

I was thinking that forktruck didn’t look that old. Those things usually will take a beating. I have almost had a couple on it’s side:emb:

Haha. Tag says 2011, but apparently the story behind that brand is they take an old Nissan and refurbish it with cheap parts, so that probably means age unknown.

The drain adapters are very common. Now the relocation kit, idk. Ford makes an adapter, but really for the mustang. The hoses on each side of the filter( are those for the oil cooler? Would think so as mine has the towing package) are the things that make it a little more difficult. An extra long oil filter would work too, but I think the cup/ socket adapter is the easiest fix with a short extension.

I just see that the 2.7 ecoboost has the really nice cartridge filter accessed easily from the top. The 5.0 nor the 3.5 ecoboost have this setup. Just put that on all of them. I mean really nothing will be as simple as the filter location of the 300 I-6, or the 302 and 351 v8's.

I'd think that a front leveling kit should help by making all the oil go out the back waterfall, and not let any go out the front.

    We're wondering the same thing.

Unfortunately, it depends just what tour you were on. Whether or not you were blind-sided with cheap shot comments or not!

Yes. They raise the front up about 2" to level the stance, instead of having a rake

It will make big changes to the geometry of the front end, keep an eye on the components for wear.

Subaru filter and filler can't be any easier.. Many add a quick change drain valve too...

Yes, those are simple. The spark plugs changes on Subaru boxers though makes up for any ease of oil change on those particular ones.

My old grand Cherokee was super easy to work on in general. Upside down canister filter right on top. 4.0 i6. My Audi had a cartridge right up top. Under the 4 rings logo on the intake. Pop that off, and it's right there easy peasy. Now the oil drain on the pan was a pita to get to, having to drop the whole skid plate and the 10 or so fasteners. Some were quarter turn, some not, two different torx drive sizes, and all the fasteners had to line up. That would've been a great candidate for the oil extraction through the dip stick. The v8 4runner is a squeeze to get the oil filter out and not drop it into the skid plate making a huge mess. The pan drain is easy though. I used to pull the heavy metal skid plate off of the 4runner. Then I found that o could squeeze my arm on from up top. Purolator has a bedliner type grippy to grab with the one hand, purely blind. You start the yota from cold, and let warm up just enough, don't drive it otherwise you'll get too much heat and burn yourself, but the oil needs to get some heat in it to flow out decently. I suppose you figure a vehicle or after you do every oil change on it in the 16 years you've had it.;). The 4.0 v6 in the base 4runner and wildwest 's fj cruiser is right on top and upside down like some subies and the old 4.0 jeep.
Full size bronco, with a 302, broncoII's and a ranger with 2.8/2.9 v6s, 5.0 mustangs and Thunderbird, Thunderbird SC , i6 Granada, all traditional and easy. Many German cars have those crappy aero trays that are held on with multiple machine screws with different drive heads, and not all Subaru's have the filter on top. Some have it underneath and are buried under full airdam plastic shields that are even worse than most German torture machines. There were a few with " cheat codes" if you knew the tricks. I've never worked on BMW cars, but I hear they are as sadistic as the Audi and VW engineers.

Any vehicle that I'm even considering to buy, I take a look at the oil change difficulty. I won't buy one if it's a total PITA. The Audi passed this only due to the way to get to top mounted oil canister and 12000 mile oil changes because of the 8 qt sump and full synthetic only.
