30 outside here and 70 inside. More small maple rounds in the furnace here. Brought the last of it up to the garage from the barn yesterday. Next time I need to restock the garage, I’ll be into some nice red oak splits! Looking forward to it:D

I could go for temps like that here! Seems we’re lucky any more to even get enough ice to go out on the water safely! Enjoy your “real” winter:rofl:

Been fairly warm (45*+) and quite wet here in the PNW past week or so. We have been having daily fires more to drive off the moisture and irritate the power co. than from necessity. The bad part is that we are now in the part of the woodshed that has a lot of Madrone, Cherry and Locust. I start the fire with Doug Fir and we burn only a few sticks of the hardwood per day. I let the fire burn down a bit before recharging a single stick of hardwood. If I use a couple pieces it gets too hot! Last split goes on about 4:30 pm or the house is to warm for sleeping.

I've been complaining about this & here I go again, no matter how much shoulder wood I have it's never enough. I ran Pine & Poplar mostly till late December, now I'm out & burning primo Oak in mild temps. Got plenty of it, but it makes for quick coal buildup when the boiler doesn't run hot. It's been +/- 30F here for 2 weeks with low gray clouds. Getting real boring.

29* out 70* in...gonna hang around the mid to upper 30s again today. We may get some rain or we may not. Either way its definitely yuck weather out there.

I'm starting to get towards the end of my red maple stash. Today's mix will include ash and oak.

They say winter might happen in another week. If so most times it starts right after a big snow.

They keep saying that. The rest of this week is pretty mild. If it actually gets really cold, I've got a bunch of honey locust ready.

Until then, it's ash, Norway maple, elm, or whatever I run across that isn't too high of BTU's for stove food.

Our first snowflakes are forecast for Friday. I’ve been burning white and red oak in 2 stoves for a while now. Current outside temp is 41. Inside temp is dang warm.
