    From today’s adventure:

They looked like softwood? But I can’t say for sure. Anyone ever burn these?

And Green Supreme Northeast Blend. All pellets they had for sale were $5.48 or $5.49 a bag.

I got a couple of bags of those Northeast from HD earlier in the season. The good news - they did not produce much ash. The bad news - they burned pretty darn cold (I'm not sure how those 2 things can even co-exist)

GS Northeast - burn decently hot but fairly ashy.

La Cretes - Never run any. Too bad my truck is in the shop, at that price I would run over to Keene and grab a few bags.

I'm burning them steady right now. High heat low ash. These normally sell in the $300 range so the HD price is pretty good.

Intersting that HD carries them. For past 7yrs it has been Stove chows in mid Atlantic area."King of the middle of the road" pellets. Past year now its the Green Supremes..

Yes. I know in my town it was chow and greens, but 2 towns away would get Fireside Ultras and another brand.

Seriously! Chows are a rarity this season in CT. Seems most are GS with some Chow here and there.

It's wild seeing what's in stock elsewhere. All things considered, Keene isn't that far out of the CT jurisdiction. I should have gone outside to see what they had in/outside the garden center. Or in true NH terms: "gahden centuh".

Since chows have been under the Energex unbrella ( bag/distribute) maybe lot of HD's have cut a new deal with Green S which i think is under Lignetics Wing..?

We usually have 2 brands, but later in season there can be surprises, like the awsome AWF pine pellets about 5-6 years ago.

That has been my experience in the past. Out of the HD's I've frequented in the past; Concord has only carried FSU - until this year they also had some Northeast (haven't been there in a month though). Manch only carried FSU (haven't been there this year), and Nashua carried two kinds of 1 brand; FSU and Fireside Platinums (last year).

I got two tons of them in 2015 from L*wes during the fire sale - I don't remember the price, but they delivered them 25 miles for free. I don't recall them as super hot, but was a very good value. Certainly wished that I had gotten more of them and none of the HD Therma Glows (actually shouldn't complain, those TG's were $100/ton and I got free delivery because the guy effed up thinking they could be delivered with the bathroom vanity and wall cabinets I bought at the same time). Haven't seen Presto's around since then.

The HDs around here have been carrying some great pellets this year but I keep having to speak to the managers about handling and keeping the pellets in good condition for us to be able to purchase them.

I did get one of the dealers around here to carry them but unfortunately none this year . I’ve been really pleased with La Crete’s again this year.
