Tenderloin here as well. Bought the whole loin I’ll cut the roast out and have some steaks for the freezer.

It was, hopefully it turns out the same this year. I did more cooking last year at this time but my yearly doctors appointment is in early January this year, last year I had put on some holiday weight but this year I'm at 215 which is good.

That’s what we did. Good filet on the grill sometime.

Doing standing rib roast here for Christmas day. Basically the same thing as a prime rib. Big old slab o' meat. Risotto, green beans with toasted hazelnuts, and some other stuff. Booze too. :drunk:

Crustaceans and shellfish ship really nicely. I might have to hit you up in the future.

Some stores had it for $15 a lb. the lowest I found it was for $6 a lb. I ended up with a wally world one; we've had them in the past and enjoyed them. It was $8 a lb. Almost $50 worth of "boneless USDA Choice" dead cow waiting to be roasted and consumed!!!

mat60 Yep we call it 1/4, 1/4, 4 brine. 1/4 cup each or brown sugar and kosher salt, then 4 cups of water. Lemons, bay leaves, cloves ( take it easy on those) sage, peppercorns If you need more, keep making these batches to submerge the chicken/ turkey/ turkey breast. You can also sub the water for apple juice. 24 hrs brining is key. You can pick and choose the herbs but you can't go wrong with lemon wedges and bay leaves.

Then cook it like a regular turkey breast. We always brine our birds, even chicken. It's much juicier and it simply tastes better than unbrined.

I still have the car to make the few trips I need to do (dump and groceries).

Insurance also would have gotten me a rental if I needed it. I'm sure it will be a while since it needs the dents on the roof taken care of and the color is one of those low sparkle types that have several coats of different type of paint before the clear coat.

I'm being different. I'll either fix myself some loaded nachoes or make a pizza. Heck, I may decide cereal or soup - I don't have to decide until that day.

Go the Christmas tree installed today...smells like spruce in here now. Usually it goes up Christmas eve, but it is supposed to rain tonight and I don't way to bring in a wet tree.

This morning I ran some Christmas errands and threw firewood into the bin in the basement. I then replaced a Taco 007 circulation pump above wood boiler. Not 100% that it needed it, but after 9-1/2 seasons I decided to replace it because it’s the one that has the most use of all of them. Basically runs 24/7 whenever the wood boiler is over 170. Now it’s time to break and then go out with the chainsaw and clean out a few trees on a drainage ditch. Then use backhoe to clean ditch out in that area before the rain comes tomorrow. If I have time before dark! Ugh. Better get a move on!

Congrats, Gas! Now you've got a grandson to help you around the property. Glad everyone is doing well.
