Last spring when campinspecter was hauling all the firewood home, he would pass by a pretty little tree he thought would make a great looking Christmas tree. Even though it was raining today, we decided to take a ride out and see if it was still there.
Here it is in its natural habitat.

I don't think we will be bringing this one home.

Timber! and it is down. Fortunately it didn't go tumbling down the hillside.

    Safely loaded for heading home.

    Are we going home yet?

For decades, I would always keep my eyes open for that perfect candidate for the house's Christmas tree. Especially while deer hunting.

Back during the first marriage days, I thought I had found a great tree. Waited until Dec; went out to cut it down and brought it home. I knocked the snow off from the ride home in the open truck bed, held it upright just outside the door of the house.... you know ..... showing it off.

"She" opened the door to look at it and just burst out laughing hysterically. And laughed some more. and wouldn't stop laughing.

Jeeze, I can still hear that laugh of hers.... :headbang:

    Nice pics!

They always look cold when they are outside. It was lightly raining and they really needed their rain jackets if we were going to be outside for awhile. As it was, it was about 15 mins. so they warmed up fast in the truck.

It has been a few busy days but today it was time to put up the Christmas tree and decorate.
Here it is in its un-natural habitat.

Our oldest daughter made the tree skirt for me one Christmas.
    Merry Christmas everyone.

Oooh, someone's getting a new gaming monitor?
I like the old-fashioned lights on the tree.

they are LEDs. My usual Christmas lights had problems so I dug out a long string of outdoor mini LEDs. I have four sets of bubble lights that I would like to set up as display but that will have to wait until next year. As a kid, I just loved bubble lights and over the years I have collected the sets.

It is a curved monitor. Didn't realize it was a gaming monitor until after I paid for it. I think it will work good for my eyesight.
