Heading up to NH this morning with my son, we have some backpacking planned for sat/sun. On the drive up we are going to fight the Mass ammo shortage and stop at some NH gun shops and stock up a little.

Day off and I have to watch all three young ones. So I guess it is getting some work done in the house for the wife. She is working today. She got paid for a week this summer to work on a math program. Done today. For some reason doing the laundry and cleaning does not sound as fun as working down at camp with the equipment. :( And the weather is beautiful out!:(

But, I will get some relaxing time in, and spend some time with the kids.

thankfully it's nothin but sand and a bit of clay here. Although at 2ft I hit a layer of what looks like burnt dirt and bark. Hmmm

The boss is taking care of the grandchildren, she left me home to fend for myself. I'll have to add some beers to the supply in the fridge:Yar:.

I removed the 8th wasp nest of the year this morning I hit it with chemical warfare materials after dark last night, this one was too large to just crush with the hoe. That made it a two step process.

I have another to remove but that one involves a step ladder on the back deck. Plenty of the beasts around this year for some reason.

I have the garage ceiling ready to be patched from my little plumbing problem this spring. Wrist didn't really want to bend in that direction but I got the worst part done. Now it is time to get the 5/8" and some mud. I get to put the board up (24" by about 30") and the boss does the mud work).

Those damm yellow jacket nests are really hard to find sometimes too. Usually the hard way... :hair: My son and his honey are headed to the cabin this weekend for a 2 nite unwind. He knows the drill as far as the YJ are concerned. I think my honey and I will jump in the Jeep and go up tomorrow fer lunch.

There is nothing like kids and water on a summer's day. We had an old waterbed liner that I laid over a 2 x 6 frame to make a paddling pool. The kids played in that for hours.

Just got a call from my son at the cabin. All's well... no yellow jacket nests (1st time in 3 years)... he's mowed and weed whacked the whole place and was settling down with his honey and the 2 huskies on the porch. Cool breeze, clear night... perfect. Looking forward to going up tomorrow.
