First sled was an elan I was 8. It was probly 25 years old. Heavy as a school bus and I always had a fuel stain on my jacket. I’m a Ford guy too...

I did that when I was that age. Surprisingly warm inside.

I remember a neighbor having a snowmobile or two many years ago. He'd ride them in the hay field/cow pasture up the street. sans snow.
If you own a snowmobile around here you also own a trailer to bring them someplace where there is snow.

The snow we got was perfect for a commercial. 10Hp Ariens walked through 2’ drifts and threw it 80 feet. Not like the toothpaste we sometimes get that goes 2 feet.

You usually won't want those. Not unless you like replacing engines. some are better than others though.

We were absolutely in the center of the forecasted worst of the storm. In fact, The Weather Channel had TWO reporters stationed on each side of us. We go a little less than a foot of snow. I have to admit that all the forecasts said that it was going to be a very unpredictable storm. They got the general forecast (we go a decent amount of snow) right, and were honest that it was very hard to predict. Kudos.

They interviewed a guy that was in the middle of that on the local news this morning. He got sandwiched in between 2 trucks. Nothing left of his car but he walked away.

I struggle each year with the thought of selling our snowmobiles. It looks like we can use them this year but it will probably be 60 degrees in a week or so, that’s what happened last year. We do have an excellent trail system here.

We had a 69 Olympic. I know the fuel stain. Light weight and nimble.

The Mercury 440E was as heavy as a bus

I calculated out the math and the 10” we got over the area of my driveway and paths to sheds/outbuildings comes out to just over 500 cubic yards or 25 heaped tri-axles of snow that the little 448 cast away.

Wow! That's a lot of snow! This storm really delivered for parts of VT. Earlier this week, it looked like they'd just get a few inches. My neighbor up there texted me a pic yesterday....18" of snow.
