how did the regrease go? I’m planning on giving my Quadra-fire insert blower a once over sometime soon and was wondering what kind of grease to get. It’s not squealing or anything, but I think less productive than it used to be. Any tips on the process?

Anyone have any suggestions on what type of business I would call to remove a collapsed tent garage. It is currently being held up by my truck o_O

Your plan must be to get some snow off the tent and prop up the pipe above your truck so you can get it out.. Can your tent be saved?

The garage is junked...cut the tarp and drop as much snow as you can....then you could probably wedge a 2x4 and lift it enough to back your truck out. If you can't wedge it, use a jack (the one from your truck would work) and 2x4 to lift it up.

I feel your pain. I had that happen several years ago when I was still doing contract work out of state and relied on a 'friend' to clean off my Rhino shelter during the winter while I was gone. We received 18" of snow one day, followed by rain, and they cleaned all of their stuff off but decided to wait to clear mine. It had collapsed on my tractor by the time they got to it the next day so they just sent a picture and said 'sorry.' A**hats....

When I got back I had to clear the snow/ice off with a roof scraper and by lifting the canvas up from the inside. PITA but you can do it. What's worse is when I contacted the company to get replacements for the top spans that had been damaged, the cost of the individual pieces was ridiculous. It was cheaper to purchase a whole new shelter than get replacement parts (all I needed were some of the top cross beams). Luckily there was no damage to the tractor.

you need a handyman to fix it. Unusual amount of snow you got. Not likely to reoccur. I bet a temp wood frame would put that shed back in use.

Remove the load off the tarp. Meaning, get the snow off the roof. Then.... address the frame.

I don't think I would slice the tarp just to remove the snow off it.

It is actually IN the front glass

I thought about cutting the top but I don't want to get myself buried (that would be my luck). I need to hire someone not do it myself. The adjusters doesn't have anyone in the area that could do the work, but has supplied a couple of names from 20-30 miles away.

One of the leads that the adjuster gave me is coming out tomorrow morning to look at it.

That is a terrible thing that happened, especially since it went through the windshield. Take pictures of everything for the insurance company. Hope you can find someone close to clean it up.

Very sorry you are experiencing this. I know this must be very agitating. I am glad you are getting some help getting this taken care of. Your comprehensive part of the insurance should take care of the damage to your truck. Homeowners minus the deduction for the garage. My granddaughter is a nurse in southern NH. She says she got about 18 inches.

Not so well, that was a while back. After that, I ordered a new blower online. $100 with the rheostat thermo switch and all wiring. The ball bearings in my original were bogarted. I should probably try to replace the bearings as I hear they are really just skateboard bearings and easy and cheap to replace.
