but hopefully we're done with this by Saturday afternoon. There's a small island that the Brook always flowed around until this got plugged. We'll try winching some of the old runners from an old bridge out so I can see if it's holding any spikes or nails. We'll have an after picture tomorrow. In the Brook.jpg you can see part of the island to the right, this must be an old phone picture.
This question is the kid in me still, but do you make any use of this island? Is/was it used as legs to a bridge? I hammock would be perfect
I don't think it was ever used before we bought the land, no on the bridge. The work we did last weekend is on the other end of the island, that end is full of dead wood we pulled out of the Brook. The best way to get the above chit off the island is through our neighbor's property so I'll see if she wants to help out with her Bota. We've talked about a picnic table there but nothing has happened yet, we like the other area above the Brook better so I better get my azz going cleaning that up, that's the place with the table and chairs, I put up a winter picture before.
There's a lot of current there for a creek. How long have you owned that land? Seems to me your a man with a vision.

So twl, do you wear the hip waders under or over the chaps? I hate to see stuff clogging streams,.....good on ya' for getting that out of there.
After seeing where the old stream channel ran behind the island, we worked straight out from picture 9612. The big tree down in that picture was an old dirty Hemlock. Picture 9616 is after some dirty cutting (cleaned the saws plenty today) picture 9618,9619 and 9622 is where the water should run behind the island when it's high.
It was a great day to do it, hardly any bugs. The worst part was walking across the Brook.....those rocks make it tough going. This should help in the spring or when we get lots of rain. I'm thinking that I'll do that channel with the trees down in it before fall.
