Oh, gotcha. I don't have a good reading on the stove top. The highest flue temp that I witnessed was around 330* (18 inches above stove). Certainly not the highest it will go, but we are getting there.

Not much story, reloaded got distracted and heard a strange noise. I went to inspect found the thermometer on the floor. It would no longer stick to anything metal.

I knew that magnets lose their "magnetiness" when they get hot enough...does it not come back when cool?

That was a good idea to order one. I wish I did. I thought I would do it manually, but I'm not in the same room once it gets past its beginning of the cycle where you would have it kick on.

You could probly make one. But for parts and labor to makes something that looked decent I think I’d be over 60 bucks.

That's not a bad idea. I just found the guts for one on Mountain hearth for 20 bucks.

I ordered one with the stove. I didn't get the rebate because it was purchased in November, but I did get it.
I almost feel like a thermo fan that you put on the stove top would be as good.

I don’t care for those things. Ecofan or whatever. Expensive and don’t move much air. I do know some people like them. Are you saying the fan has weak output?

To me, this stove needs a blower to produce full BTU's since it has that convection deck...

Yup feel the same way. Noticed the benifits of a blower with the summers beat.

No, not at all. It moves air. I'm not poo pooing it. I think mine had two missing screws, but that's the only bad thing I can say other than I need a thermodisk. Owners manual says that it will cause problems if the blower is on and the stove is not up to temp. It cools the deck if its not in the zone.
