I think the butter helps with the char. When I move it off the flame it looks like this 20140717_203518.jpg
By the time it finishes it looks like the photo above on the plate. It doesn't take long to finish if the grill plenty hot. They pretty muck bake to finish. Indirect heat is about 500°f. These are 1.25" thick.

Looks so good. I got an egg salad sandwich and watermelon.
That steak is cooked just the way I liked it when I was able to have one. Had a veggie burger yesterday.

We had steak for lunch but it was pan fried. No grilling here. Yours looks awesome. I am glad Thursday came along so you could celebrate.

By the way, is your spouse rolling her eyes because you cook with a camera handy now? We have all gone through that.

I'm still working on the significance of Thursday and your steak grilling? What's up with that?
We had some tips on the grill last night, my wife marinated them in something new and we had it with a caprese salad. Yum!
Like the looks of your steaks on the paper plates, only way to truly have grilled food in the summertime.

I've been taking pictures of food and showing them off to people at work for a while. She still rolls her eyes at me.

I may very well celebrate Friday with a turkey sandwich. The point is you don't always need a good reason to celebrate.

Looks perfect.... Nice cut of meat over a real fire and cooked to perfection. Cooking hot over charcoal or wood is the way to go....:)

    We had leftovers.... :(
