Up and at ‘em! A bunch of nothing on the agenda today, and wide awake at 5:30.

Fresh ground coffee brewing, and house is quiet. It’s a good way to sneak up on the sunrise.

I think she has PTSD from the tree service experience. They left ruts in her back yard, left 3 or 4 sheets of plywood on the ground that they used for footing, didn't cut some trees she wanted cut, and left some pine branches and chunks behind. I'm sure they were rushing to get a lot of jobs done before the "bombogenesis" storm that only dropped 3" of snow.

Good morning everyone! We might hit 60° today, with sun! I'll have my grandson today, so we'll hit a playground, haven't done that in awhile. Also some splitting practice is on the menu. D7vXP60.jpg Have a fun Sunday!

    Good morning All.

I re-handled an old maul and went out and bought a new MS250 yesterday. The trees where I cut up north don't get big enough for me to need a bigger, heavier saw for firewood. In my testing yesterday on some relatively bigger silver maple logs, it seemed to cut really strong and smooth. It should only get better as it gets broke in a bit. Now my 25 year old Husqvarna 51 is my back-up in the 18" bar range.

Sounds like a good deal. Never ran that model, I think Midwinter has a MS250.

Ugh, keep that warm weather down at your part of the state (although seeing the sun would be nice). We've been in the mid-thirties all day and everything is just a slushy mess. I'm not a fan of mud season in mid-December. Yesterday I stacked everything I had split on Friday (about 3/4 cord) and I'm glad I did as with the rain/freezing rain yesterday and the warmer temps today, the wood processing area looks more like mid-April than mid-December. Good luck with the splitting practice (although I am disappointed in you for leaving all that red maple...shame on you).

Morning all. After a gorgeous clear day yesterday, we have rain and wind this morning. Indoor chores, bookkeeping and football is on the menu for today.

    Everyone have a great day.

The mud is certainly a drag. I need some chips around my splitting spot.

If you were closer, I'd let you borrow my chipper and you could tackle this 8' high pile of branches I've been procrastinating about getting rid of. About 95% red oak so you'd get some good wood chips out of it.

We got a roast and couple of loins. They ground the rest up. Except for some of back strips.
