Hello everyone. I haven't done my secret Santa shopping yet. I probably won't go out shopping this year due to the whole mess we are in so I am thinking of on-line ordering and direct shipping. I need some ideas on what to give.
I would (oh wait I did) do some creeping on your gift recipient. Look up some of their previous posts which should give you some clues as to what they like. Could also do generic gifts any wood hoarder would enjoy such as wedges, FHC apparel, hatchet, firestarters, safety gear, a mug, etc Another option is a homeade gift, but you're running out of time to do that.
FYI shipping has been extremely slow. Both when ordering things and when shipping things out. I'd go with your gut and send them something you find useful that hopefully they do too.
How's about a nice bottle of single malt scotch? PPE is always nice. Or.... tools/clothing related to processing. Another bar for chainsaw with new chains. Heck, even a new chain saw as this site has done that numerous times. Finally, if you're feeling generous, another wood stove is always a nice surprise! Let your generosity run wild!
I was thinking that I don't have to get everything at one place. My Secret Santa may get several small packages of goodies. I would like to go out and look for things but my heart isn't in going out this year. I talked myself out of going to Krogers today and it didn't take much to do it.
I actually know someone that got a car from Oprah; she was on the programme dealing with women small business owners or something of that nature. While a new stove is not likely you did give me the idea of stove accessories; thank you.
Thanks guys, you got my ideas flowing; I feel better now. I need to do some keyboard shopping tomorrow.
Do any of your local stores have a website to order items and then you can pick them up like a drive-through? That's happening a lot up here.
Almost 3 1/2 weeks for a card to get to Colorado from Michigan! Then, 2 weeks for one of those USPS prepaid envelopes to get there!!! What the heck is going on out there?????
I heard that the USPS hired a new guy to be in charge...he decided that all trucks will leave on time, loaded or not. No idea if that's actually true. That, and I've heard that the CV19 has hit them hard... Edit: Looks to be basically true...What's really behind Postal Service delays? A flood of packages, a stricter truck schedule and COVID-19.
