We may have a snow storm headed our way this weekend. I moved about a half cord of 2 yr seasoned ash to my patio stack. The new to me 4x8 trailer worked great as the bark and anything else that fell off during the process just stayed in the trailer and not deposited all over my lawn. I would pick up the big pieces of bark and throw them right in the fire pit and sweep the remaining up and into the snow shovel to clean up the rest. I'll change the oil on the snowblower today and grease the zerks up and wax the chute too. Then I'll be set for whatever. It was in the low 50's yesterday. Today is supposed to be a duplicate.
Rough one today. Two of my colleagues were hit in the crosswalk on the way in to work early this morning. One was killed, they are not releasing any information on the other. Neither work directly with me and I only barely knew the one who was killed, I don't even know who the second person is. I had work that needed to get done, ended up screwing it up royally, probably cost me several weeks work, so I went home where I found my daughter crying because the 18 year old cat couldn't move his back legs, we ran him up to the vet and decided to have him euthanized.
That is rough for the family of the ones that got hit and sorry about your cat and what your daughter saw today. Im sure you all will miss not having your family pet around.
Saw that when I look on the news this afternoon Dave. Pretty sad, young girl with her whole life ahead. Sorry about the cat. Our black lab was kinda the same situation in July, 14 years old, daughter had a very hard time but knew it was right. 18 is pretty impressive for a cat though, she should be happy for the time she had.
I’m sorry for all of your troubles. You never forget days like this, but you tend to learn something also.
Condolences to Gasifier on your Mother-in-laws passing. May your family find comfort. DaveGunter, sorry to hear of your work associates tragedy. Also, the passing of your cat. 18 years is pretty amazing run. Did the same a few years ago. It was especially tough on our daughter.
It's supposed to rain then snow. Not much they say, but they are admitting they don't know. One model shows about 2-3" here, and another shows 15" of snow. This is from the same meteorologist. Whatever. I've got gasoline, I changed the snowblower oil, greased the augers, aired up the tires on it too. It's all set. We went shopping the other day, we're good for 2weeks food wise. Got more beer too the other day. We also just bought the dogs a bag each of their respective dry food, so there's nothing we need. Let it dump. I don't care. I'll even post pics.
wow, what a horrible day today for some of you. I am VERY thankful that one of my guys had an accident that was very minor, but had the potential to be way worse.
Better days ahead. Thoughts and prayers for the families of those in accident. And for you and yours for your loss.
Yes sir I do! I had 1.5 cords right outside the patio door which is just outside the stove room. All nice and covered. Now it's 2 full cords after yesterday. I'll probably bring in a couple gorilla carts full of wood and put them in the garage for even easier access.
Tough to read that DaveGunter . Was that on the crosswalk right out front at work? Sorry for your losses DaveGunter and Gasifier
