Pretty small firebox, and there were plenty of coals buried beneath the ash to get her going again this morning!
24f here on the side of the hill...soft maple and white oak in the stove...cold and clear night here in the Poconos.
25* out 67* in....its looking like another couple of mild days ahead of us. Its supposed to hit 40* again today and get warmer as the week goes Cherry, walnut and red maple is on deck for this mornings load.
About 17 this morning. The bubblin goo kicked on because the Wood Gun ran out of firewood earlier. But, it is now loaded with Beech and a piece of Maple, so should come back up to temperature soon.
Last few nights been cold (for our area anyway) 22* monday night and 27* last night. Had BL chunks for over night burn. In the morning the upstairs was close to 70. Downstairs 65, which is pretty good for this old house and having stove air shut down. Cherry and pine when I got up at 4:40, brought temps back up. I'll put more BL chunks in before going to work.
Ee hit a low of 20. Before I rolled out of bed at 6:30 the furnace kicked on so not sure how chilly it got in here. Had a nice bed of coals so didn't take the stove long to take over.
Low 30’s here in Delaware. Wood stove has the house around 67. I have an old house built in the 1800’s, very drafty so even with the stove burning I can’t get it over 68 on cold nights around 30. Right now I’m burning a mix of oak maple and birch. I got behind and don’t have a lot of good seasoned stuff. Next year though I’m gonna be Golden.
Cats love it though. I load the box at night and with the crappy wood I have it lasts for a good four hours but the coals are nice and hot for the morning.
A very dry 25F during the small hours. Just brought the stove back to life with some cherry and sugar maple. I’m going to top it off soon with a split of red oak and one of locust then throttle down for the night.
