Here is a 1 month update:
I have the plenum on top as you will see progress of that in my previous posts.

The plenum has a 10in duct and is connected into the main trunk from the plenum on my gas furnace.

And the cold air return from gas furnace to the wood furnace is a 12in duct.

As you can see my gas furnace has only ran for approx 30min in the last several days.

The house has been anywhere between
74°- 78° on a daily basis. Even when it does hit 78° it is not uncomfortable.

I have also found a good chimney brush.
    The brush comes apart into
    (16) 3.5ft pieces = 56ft in total length.
    And connects to a drill.

Its like a weed whip for your chimney.

My chimney is approx 48ft tall,
and using this brush made it very simple and easy. [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

I like your splitter next to the furnace...I have one next to the wood rack in the garage...handy when you grab those "what was I thinking?!" XL splits!
That, and custom making splits to fit in the door when you are fighting to fill every last square inch of the firebox in January.

    Hahaha yes!

I have a room that on the other side of the furnace that was stacked full.. now I'm running scarce again. I have a little more big logs to split yet. Just haven't found the motivation to do it quite yet.

And yeah I will say it is very nice having the splitter in my basement.
I mean it is a little electric 5ton splitter from harbor freaight.
Not the best in the world but it does what I need it to do.
I have found that larger pieces. With some smaller pieces. Makes stuffing easier.
The larger ones take much longer to burn through.

But I use one of the old coal shoots in my basement. Just open the door and down the wood goes.
If it needs to be split.. it gets split.
If not then it gets stacked.

And come January I would much rather not be in my garage or out side to split the wood.

It does make quite the mess,
but oh well makes great kindling to get a fire started if it goes out.
