I used to always eat the things I'd never buy myself on work dinners. Add a side of king crab legs to my steak? Don't mind if I do! I really miss the expense account at my last job.

I don't need one. But I'd only drive the truck on nice days

Like this.. Im thinking more room in the back. I had a chevy flareside and loved the look but there wasnt much room in the bed.

I don't think it makes that much difference compared to a straight sided short bed, a few inches around the wheel wells. But a long bed is definitely ideal for a truck doing a lot of work.

I guess it depends what you're doing with the truck too, if you're hauling rocks etc you'll run out of weight capacity before you even fill up a 5' bed. What I like about an 8' is being able to shut the tailgate on plywood or the like.

Good engines though. That's the worst fault about big trucks, especially older ones

I love ships, but haven't had to chance to catch many lately. Working till dark every weekday now with the days so short.

I'm still kicking myself for not buying a truck a few years back. It was 2005 3/4 ton 4x4 with 8.1L and 30k miles....could have taken it home for next to nothing back when gas was coming up on $4 a gallon.

Good thought Eric. I had forgotten about that. When I looked into it, I was on o2 with activity and when I was sleeping. So didn't qualify. But look into it.
    Glad to hear that.

Mine gets about 10 mpg if its empty or loaded. I didnt mind so much when I was on the road making money with it. Used a car the rest of the time. With the price of new trucks Im going to keep it as long as I can. I think the 8.1 may have been a better motor.
