We lost power from 8pm to about 8am this morning.. I think allot of people on rt 17 lost power. Made for a long night :).. Havent seen the news today but I bet there are lots of people without. We lived in Augusta on davenport street during the ice storm. I think we were 5 days without power that time. It was cold.

Was just outside, wind is starting to kick up again. Cooling down and freezing back up. Hopefully it stays on.

slime the tire if it is problematic. use silicone spray on the inside of the chute so the snow doesn't stick. waxing it pre season helps too.

Looks like some king in back in the bag but mostly snow crab. Those are large snow crab legs, lately they have been pretty small as to whats sent to the stores around here.

Thanks, power flickered once. Just enough to shut the electronics. I was glad because I have bipap and cannot breath on my own lying down. I have some back up, but have to get it all set up again, I'm thinking of getting a couple marine cell batteries so I can use them for power. I have a alarm to go off when the power shuts down. So far, I have been able to wake up as soon as the power shuts down. I do have a generator but it isn't automatic like it should be.

Yep. Those snows are massive. I'd say those are the better deal. I love king crab, but I'll take large snow crab any day over King crab even if the same size due to price and nearly no spikeys compared to king which is spikey all over

You must have a cab and a blower on that kubota. Thats the only way you can be wanting 2' of snow.

No cab. I really enjoy the snow. When I was in the scouts we did a lot of winter camping, the scoutmaster would always say there is no such thing as bad weather just bad gear. If you dress properly it’s no big deal unless it’s cold and pouring rain that’s no fun.

savemoney Have you contacted your power provider and informed them of you medical need to have power? They should then put you higher on the priority list for restoring power.

I have a 24" ariens that I bought new a couple years ago. It works well, and my driveway isn't large. But it KILLS me that I have an ariens GT17 garden tractor and I have a 48" 2 stage snowblower for it. I can't use the the blower on the tractor because I don't have the garage space to put the blower on the tractor the tractor won't fit in the shed with either the 48" deck or blower on it. Heck, even the rear wheel weights don't clear the narrow door.. I know. it drives me nuts. I grew up driving this tractor and blowing the snow for the long driveway at the house i grew up in. Dad got it new in 84 and I started mowing grass hauling wood and snowblowing the driveway with it at 11 or 12 yrs old. I swapped a Magnum 18 into it after the kt17 blew after 30 or so years of running.

One day I'll build that detached garage and get the blower on it for winters, and find a cab to put on that beast. The 24" ariens walk behind takes me 30-45 minutes to clear the driveway depending on snow depth, where that blower on the GT would have the job done in like 10-15 minutes. I can get pretty sweaty with the walk behind too, where I'd be laughing while not sweating at all. That's the issue with walk behinds, no matter how well they work, if you have the blower in a faster speed, you are hoofing to keep up, and with all the gear on, it doesn't take much.

The older I get, the more enticing that snowblower on the GT sounds .

I looked at blowers for the bota, too much money. And I could only run a rear mount don’t really want to be wrenched around. I have a ghetto plow set up but My driveway set up won’t really work with a plow no where to push it.
Struggled with pos blowers for years finding fixing using till it don’t work no more... I bought a new ariens 30 it’s the cats azz! The more snow in the bucket the farther it throws. Not great for less than 3 inch tho.

I try to Always dress in layers of synthetic fiber, strip as you warm up. Sweat kills!

The wind finally died down here. It was just above freezing with not much sun. We had some deer around munching on various stems. One liked the hydrangea.

The loud creak from yesterday's wind was a dead sugar maple limb. I'll try to get that cut this week.

Put up some of my wall art to the right of the stove. Cleaned the kitchen to get ready for wallpapering.
