Indoor projects today. Two coats of paint cut in the wall behind the new stove install.

We went out to get some lighting for the kitchen ceiling. We tried a few different fixtures in the last month and all were too small. The Mrs. and our daughter went out to an antique store and found an old wood ladder. I hung it up over where the new kitchen table will go. That is another project.

I cooked up a nice chicken stew with biscuits. The Mrs made a crock of chili. It smells real good in here.

We heard a loud noise when we had a wind gust, not sure what went down or if something blew over. Just riding out the storm. A bit of wind and about two inches of snow.

I just finished a chicken stew, biscuits will be out in 5 minutes.

I over did it this morning in the rain trying to get everything squared away last minute, and my back has not been happy with me. Thankfully, its the kind of pain that I know will be gone tomorrow.

WiFi thermostats are addictive! Our cabin had one already installed so I bought a MIFI hotspot through US Cellular to power it. The previous owner met us at the cabin yesterday to help us program it. I click on 5 times a day! Why? You tell me. I keep the LP furnace at 50F.

boys and their toys my wife says,,,

Kind of a lazy day here. Got the last bathroom mirror framed and mounted. Finished cutting and splitting the last of the triaxle loads of RR tie cut offs....only took about an hour. Hauled a load of moving stuff for my BIL. Worked on some organizer boxes....lots of finger joints but now ready to glue. Cooked some venison fajitas for dinner.

We have been on generator for almost 2 hours at this point. Second time in 5 days we have been on generator power. We never lose power here.

I went over to my buddy's place and I scavenged a bunch of white pine butts from the grove he had logged in spring. I had to cut a few cookies off to get them to 17-18" but that was fun. We also lit one of the piles of branches on fire from the logging. That made quite a fire. Sorry, no pictures of that fire, but it was mega choochin' !

I cut up a bunch of longer branches to throw on the fire in between making cookies.

It was 29° out, but sure felt much much warmer than that.:dennis:

I got to test out the new to me small wood trailer. It's still a 4x8, but solid wood floored so the trash will stay in the trailer and not in the lawn. It doesn't have the rear ramp tailgate, but it has ramps for loading the ATV or splitter. The trailer has a little bigger and wider tires than the skinny ones from the other trailer, and the trailer is a little heavier duty than the other one. It's also got taller sides. The axle is right in the middle, unlike the other trailer that has the axle a little further back so I'll need to be mindful to put heavier items up front versus behind the axle. This trailer was a freebie, so it's hard to argue with the price.

This will work and the other 4x8 trailer will be sold to go towards a bigger trailer. These 4x8 trailers really hide behind a full size pickup. Not a good thing, but maybe I can put a couple of fiberglass whips on the back corners so I can see it easier backing up. A 6x10 or 12' long trailer with a ramp gate would be ideal. However, these small 4x8's work great behind the ATV on the trails. Any more wooded areas I've got a 10 cubic foot agrifab trailer.

I split and loaded the white pine and box elder. It will be great shoulder season wood and being on the outside of the stack exposed to sun and wind it should season quite well. The sap had already dried up on the pine, which was felled but left in rounds from late last winter.
Here it is with a decent load of white pine and box elder.

I'll stack this hopefully tomorrow. This should be about all I'll need to fill up the 1 bay of my wood shed.

Well, that is certainly disappointing. Hopefully next weekend works out.

Went to move the "big" Snowtek snowblower yesterday evening in preparation for getting rid of the heavy, wet ch*t (and it had started raining to add to the fun). Couldn't hardly move it, wtf? One of the tires was completely flat. Wouldn't air up so it must have unseated off the rim.

Went out to the shed and grabbed the 'smaller" Craftsman (as in it is physically smaller, not size of engine or width of attack). Started right up but kept plugging up the chute. Did get the driveway done and part of the berm at the end. Switched to a shovel for that and the mailbox.

I was at the grocery store yesterday with my daughter. She needed to use the bathroom, which is right next to the seafood counter. I was ogling the king crab legs. I LOVE them, but its hard to justify the cost.

If I understood right, I think she's already out of the hospital. No serious damage thankfully
