Noodled up some white oak before it got to hot. Up to 34" rounds. I think the little Toyota is maxed out.
I noodled some oak branches the other day...24" branch dropped in the neighbors yard. Got 3 cord out of one branch. The rest of the tree dropped last night. Gonna take a pro to clean it up. It broke just below the crown and flopped over leaving the trunk 12' off the ground. I get all the cut to length firewood I want. Probably close to 7 cord there. Yes...it was a very very big tree.
3 cords .. I dunno, if it was a 24" branch, that branch would have to be 500 feet long to give ya 3 cords .. lol
Your math seeems to be a bit off. 24” in diameter gives an area of 452 square inches at the end or 3.14 sqft. At 90 solid cubic feet per cord (excluding air space), a 24” cylindrical branch (no taper) would have to be 86 feet long (not 500) to make 3 cords. Depending on branching of the tree, taper and how small in diameter the branches were cut for firewood, it’s not unbelievable that one could get a lot of wood out of one branch on an open grown tree... if my logic is flawed, let me know..
