Funny weather pattern thus far this season. I haven't needed to run the stove consistently day after day, only 3-4 days in a row here and there. This next week or so it's looking like overnight burns and relying on the oil heat during the days if necessary. Can't really justify burning when it's almost 50 out. I've been going through more kindling than I would like to so it would be in my best interest to attend to that before it's an emergency. Come on winter, only 3 more weeks before the days start getting longer again :)

Same here. The furnace has been doing the morning heating and it shuts off at 9am and can stay off till after dark. Every time we start a fire it gets way too hot. Only had a couple nights where we had to do an overnight burn. Should get colder soon. The weather has been odd on this side of the country.

Larry, I got hit with it too. The arthritis got bad during the night before the storm hit. Mine is Psoriatic arthritis so it gets the tendons too. From my neck to my feet hurt all day. Hoping that new storm misses us both.

We have been looking for so long. We finally decided to stop competing with Minneapolis money. We brought our search from way up north to central. This popped up and we jumped. I helped the owner today do some tree work and change an eye and bulb on the dusk to dawn light. And did the final walk through. He is leaving the woodshed full of two year old oak. His new house has a pellet stove so,,,

The wood shed runs the full length of the pole barn and wood shed is full.

Nice. Looking forward to interior pics.

Hope you don't get much snowfall with that gentle sloped roof.

Looks like a really nice setup. Sometimes changing location can bring the perfect deal. Best of luck.

I do too, but different times than you guys as weather is different out here. Mine is a bit different than other RA's, hits the middle and end joints worse than knuckles on fingers/toes, but elbows and knees always bark, and not enough sleep sometimes because hips and shoulders. It is what it is. Do you guys get swollen hands and feet too? Swollen as in tissue, not joints. I know Brandon does.

Metal roof should dump the snow, although with all those pine trees around, may not get enough sun to keep it clean. Nice that the slopes go opposite of where the entry and garage doors are so they don't have to clean up the snow dumpage to get out.

I've been a bit busy lately with house projects. I spent Friday-Sunday mostly working in the kitchen and attic. The kitchen ceiling is finally done. Lots of tools put away now. The Mrs. mentioned painting the knotty pine cabinets to brighten up the room. We are a few hours into that with the uppers done, and it is making a huge difference.

I worked on cutting up the downed spruce which was covered in vines. The butt end was 8 feet up in the air. Just pieced it down and limbed as I went. Such a tangle of vines and branches for little gain of wood. The hemlock was easier to process a few weeks ago.

The path is almost open again to get out back. Open burn starts in January, I may start earlier this year to get a jump on it.

We are also getting ready to welcome our new rescue dog this weekend. Hopefully, all will go well. I'm looking forward to the young lady having a permanent home. Have a good day everyone

She (your new dog) will love your property, it's doggie heaven. I hope she's trainable.

I could go further if I broke down and swallowed a pain killer. But that can easily lead to overdoing things. Besides being tired isn't a excuse for popping a pill.
