We had breakfast for dinner last night. AKA theres no food in the house, and I desperately need to go grocery shopping. Eggs, bacon, and pancakes with maple syrup from the trees in my yard.

Pancakes and waffles are usually made for supper, not breakfast. We even have oatmeal once in awhile for supper.

The Wif usually fixes potatoes (either hash browns or O'Brian) two eggs over medium and sage or maple sausage. Every once in a while we mix it up with pancakes or waffles, eggs on top and sausages.:flipeggs:

Same here, I almost never have pancakes for breakfast. They sit in my stomach like a lead weight.

Have you tried eating yeast pancakes? they are lighter and you don't get the baking powder taste with them.

I don't know if I ever had yeast pancakes. My wife and I never seem to get up at the same time and I am used to eating shortly after getting up. Making pancakes or waffles would take too long. Bowl of cereal or a toasted bagel with OJ and coffee doesn't take long to put on the table.

This recipe is put together the night before and left to rise in the fridge overnight. I take the bowl out of the fridge as soon as I get up so they warm up a little before I cook them. I make a half batch and they always taste like you need more than that.

Shredded potato crust, sausage , whatever shredded cheese was in the fridge there were a couple with just a little at the bottom and 6 large scrambled eggs. Yum!

We went out for breakfast and I had a smoked salmon benny and campinspecter had a Belgium waffle with strawberries, whip cream and syrup. We were the only customers in the dining room so it was very nice.
